“ Ici e(s)t ma place ”
est
un projet réalisé en juillet 2022 en résidence artistique dans le Tarn.
Il s’inscrit dans le projet territorial “ L’ image et la parole ” porté
par l’association Échos-Ci, Échos-Là, grâce au soutien de la Drac
Occitanie, de la Région Occitanie, du Conseil départemental du Tarn, et
de la Commune Labastide-Rouairoux.
Où est ma place, quelle est ma place ?
Y-a-t-il une réponse à cette question autour de laquelle nous tournons depuis l’intérieur de nos existences ?
Et
d’ailleurs, ne s’agirait-il pas d’une succession de places, aussi
mouvantes qu’éphémères ? Et non d’une seule qui répondrait à la
tentation nous réduire à une unique définition de nous-même ?
Comment
donner à voir, comment photographier ce qui par définition n’existe que
par celle ou celui qui l’habite, l’investit, physiquement,
émotionnellement, intimement : une place, sa place ?
Par annonce, par
le bouche-à-oreille, par le hasard de la rencontre, des habitantes de
la vallée du village de Labastide Rouairoux ont été invitées à dévoiler
l’une de leurs places - une parmi toutes les autres.
Le temps d’un
été, à travers des portraits individuels, de familles, de fratries, de
groupes, à travers des paysages réels ou imaginés, se dessine un
kaléidoscope de places autour de l’affirmation de chacune :
“ Ici e(s)t ma place ”.
Ce travail est composé en sept parties.
Chacune interroge, dans un dispositif différent la question de la place.

"Here (Is) My Place"
This project was created in July 2022 during an artistic residency in the Tarn region. It is part of the territorial project "Image and Word", led by the association Échos-Ci, Échos-Là, with the support of DRAC Occitanie, the Occitanie Region, the Tarn Departmental Council, and the Commune of Labastide-Rouairoux.
Where is my place? What is my place?
Is there a definitive answer to this question that we continuously circle around from within our own lives?
Or perhaps, is it a succession of places, fluid and fleeting, rather than a single one that confines us to a fixed definition of ourselves?
How can we make visible, how can we photograph something that, by nature, only exists through the person who inhabits it, who claims it physically, emotionally, intimately: a place, their place?
Through announcements, word of mouth, and chance encounters, women from the valley of Labastide-Rouairoux were invited to reveal one of their places, one among many others.
Over the course of a summer, through individual portraits, family and sibling groups, and landscapes both real and imagined, a kaleidoscope of places takes shape, affirming each individual’s presence:
"Here (Is) My Place."
This work is composed of seven parts, each exploring the concept of "place" through a different artistic approach.

... For now, created with 21 residents of the Thoré Valley, engaging in a dialogue about their ideal, imagined, assigned, and social place.
